Take a day excursion from South Africa into the mountain country of Lesotho and back to experience the splendor of Sani Pass via 4x4 vehicle. Head out from Durban and travel through Pietermaritzburg, a beautifully preserved Victorian city, to the World Heritage Sani Pass, a mountainous pass that rises 9,429 feet above sea level. Visit a traditional Sotho village after crossing the border (bring your passport!). The homes are arranged around a central area that is inhabited to livestock. After that, eat lunch at Africa's tallest pub (own expense) and take in the breathtaking views.
